Kate Lasky and Tomasz Skowronski

Kate Lasky is the co-owner + co-chef of APTEKA, a Central + Eastern European restaurant that opened in early 2016. Apteka was named the Best New Restaurant of 2016 by Pittsburgh Magazine, and Kate and her partner Tomasz Skowronski were named Rising Star Chefs by Pittsburgh Magazine and Star Chefs. Apteka has been featured in a number of national publications for it’s contribution to the national conversation of changing food and diet trends, including the Wall Street Journal and Bon Appetit. As a small business, Apteka is a leader in community, sustainability, and fair labor efforts. Kate graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2011 & 2013 with a Bachelor’s in History and a Master’s in International Development.
