Overview
After meeting in Boston, Chefs Ken and Jamie quickly bonded over all things food, discussing types of cuisine and favorite cookbook recipes. Realizing they shared a unique passion, the natural next step was to combine their talents. When Chef Ken’s steakhouse concept, KO Prime, came to life, Jamie was at the helm of the kitchen.
Their next venture, Toro, opened in 2005 to critical acclaim in Boston’s South End. Serving Barcelona-style hot and cold tapas, Toro remains a staple Boston dining experience 12 years later. The duo next opened Coppa, just down the street from Toro in 2010. An intimate enoteca, Coppa serves Italian influenced small plates, focusing on local and seasonal ingredients. Ken and Jamie next brought the Toro concept to New York in 2013. Toro New York’s refined, industrial space channels the spirit of Barcelona, while maintaining the flavor and energy that was born in Toro Boston.
The chef powerhouse expanded to Cambridge, MA in 2016. The opening of Little Donkey brought a dynamic global tapas restaurant to Central Square. The ever changing and cross culturally inspired menu allowed Ken and Jamie the freedom to experiment in the kitchen, and offer an array of flavors that speak to their experience dining all over the world. The next Toro concept opened in Dubai in the fall of 2017, then in late 2019, the duo opened Little Donkey Bangkok.
