An architect by profession, in 1996 Chef Gerardo Vázquez Lugo decided to abandon a promising career in architecture to dedicate himself to his true passion, Traditional Mexican Cuisine.
He began his studies in the field of gastronomy at the Institute of Culinary Culture under the tutelage of Chef Alicia Gironella and Dr. Giorgio D’Angeli.
He is the host of the program “TU COCINA”, broadcast on channel Once of the IPN. He has participated as a guest chef in different television programs on BBC London, TLC, Canal Gourmet.
He is Chef and international gastronomic lecturer in countries such as: Japan, China, Canada, the United States, Italy, France, Switzerland, Spain, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, among others. In addition, he is a researcher of the Mexican Indigenous Cuisine for its preservation, promotion and dissemination, as well as a promoter of small Mexican agricultural and artisan producers.
He was invited by the Mexican Federal Government as a representative of the Conservatory of Mexican Gastronomic Culture to deliver the title of Cultural Heritage.
