Prior to her hospitality PR career, Anne worked in entertainment television as Managing Editor for TV Guide Network after a stint managing high-profile bands in the music industry. When she’s not working you can find her watching one of two-dozen YouTube Channels about travel, buying too many Japanese ceramics, and collecting tinned seafood.
KAT NGUYEN-DE ANGELIS brings more than 20 years of public relations and journalism expertise to clients, with both agency PR experience and a decade-long career as a staff writer for one of the top 25 newspapers in the country, covering food and fashion.≠
She has led PR efforts for an array of major retail properties across the U.S., including high-profile luxury shopping
destinations such as South Coast Plaza, Fashion Island, The Shops Buckhead Atlanta, and River Oaks District. As a result, Kat has worked with a wide breadth of established retail brands and dining concepts, from luxury brands such as Cartier, Chopard, and Roger Vivier, to retail juggernauts such as Nordstrom and Target, to Anthropologie and West Elm. Restaurants/food & beverage brands that Kat has worked with over the years include Patina Restaurant Group, MB Post/Chef David LeFevre, Marché Moderne, Hello Kitty Cafe, and more.
During her tenure at The Orange County Register, Kat devoted much ink to food trend features, restaurant reviews, and travel pieces. She has also written for Zagat, WHERE Magazine, and Orange Coast Magazine. When she’s not working or hanging with her boys at home, Kat is contemplating how to find enough time to write a guide to Vietnamese food across the U.S.

"Anne Alderete never ever steers me wrong: her sense of what makes a good story, her deep understanding of culture and context, her unerring nose for the right angle at the right time. She knows what I’m looking for as a journalist — and, more importantly, she knows what I’m not looking for. My inbox is a graveyard of unopened pitches and requests but I make it a point to always open Anne’s emails. Always always always."
–Helen Rosner, Staff Writer, The New Yorker
“Kat is the definition of a powerhouse. She tackles each job with passionate enthusiasm and has an unmatched ability to drive interest and create a story - even when there isn’t one. Having built strong relationships with all levels of media over the years, and having the distinct advantage of knowing the other side of the pitch, the coverage she garners is always compelling. Her mind is always thinking of different angles and how to best serve her client’s needs. Kat strikes the perfect balance of being results-driven while also being a true pleasure to work with.”
–Sofie Lejejs, Marketing Manager, Montage Laguna Beach
“I have been a journalist for 30 years now and I can say that Kat is one of the best publicists I have ever worked with. With her news biz background, she knows exactly what I need for a story, often anticipating it before I even ask. And she knows how to pitch a story. Reporters get dozens of email pitches a day, and frankly if they don’t jump out at you and scream “story!” they go in the trash. Kat is good at showing me what the story is, and more importantly, what it can be. It is a pleasure working with someone who gets it.”
