Dionne is co-owner of Dionne’s Good Food, and also serves as the head of the Far Southeast Family Strengthening Collaborative in Washington, DC. She has worked in community development and local government for over twenty-five years.
To combat the food desert in Anacostia, Dionne led a team to start Cheers at the Big Chair on MLK Avenue SE, a full-service restaurant that not only served the community but also hired their employees from the community. Cheers at the Big Chair was a wonderful hub of networking, fun, great food, and an atmosphere which exuded the power behind native Washingtonians owning a great restaurant on Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, SE.
